Oh, and how did I forget:

A key highlight that didn't make the previous list is that I have been officially accepted to join staff with Campus Crusade for Christ this summer! I am so excited to continue on the journey of full-time ministry, particularly with college students. I love getting to see lost students become Christ-centered laborers and I am passionate about everyone knowing someone who truly follows Jesus. I (more often then not) love how this job continually challenges me in every area of life. I love how I get to spend my working hours openly talking about the One I love most. I love getting to see lives transformed by the Gospel. I love acting on the desire to give every student the opportunity to know their Creator. I love how my job gets me countless chances to bake for hungry students. Well, I could go on but I'll stop here for now. Thanks for continuing on this journey with me! Questions? Ask away. . .

It's been. . .

too long! Sorry friends. So much has happened since I last wrote. Here are some highlights:

- I spoke at our weekly meeting: Sent Ones (the series we've been going through as students prepare for their summers and graduation) are risk takers. We looked at the life of Queen Esther and of Bri Esswein, both sent ones (for "such a time as this", love that verse!) who took great risks for the Lord. I've enjoyed the opportunities to speak at weekly meetings this year!

- I coordinated and led an outreach with High School students at Cal. I met up with a group of HS Juniors that go to a Christian High School near Monterey. Their director became a Christian at Cal in 1985, so cool! Earlier that day I ran into a group of high school students from down south who were on a missions trip for Spring Break. . .I invited them to join me and the other group in an evangelism training time, going out to talk to students on campus, and sharing time - they did. . .that was so cool! All the students (and I!) were so pumped and excited about the conversations they were able to have. Definitely a great day!

- Cal Day, basically 50,000 parents, prospective students, and anyone and everyone else comes to Berkeley to check out the campus and all it has to offer. We had a table out there with all of the other clubs and 25 prospective students signed up and will potentially come check us out in the fall. I just love working for an organization that has such a great reputation, really each of these students and parents approached the table because they had heard of Campus Crusade for Christ. It was also fun to try to put worried parents at ease about letting their kid go to Cal. This campus needs more strong believers, not less!

- My mom came over to help paint my kitchen cabinets, what a job! So thankful for her and my dad, had a yummy lunch together as well.

- Heard the coolest true story from a man who was a student here in the late 60s (he graduated in '70 but his ceremony was cancelled because it was too dangerous on and around campus during that time - so crazy). Essentially, he wrote very well-thought out paper for one of his philosophy classes here. The hostile atheist professor gives him an undeserved F. After fuming about this for a while he goes in to talk to the prof. After introducing himself and saying that he came in to discuss a grade the prof told him that he never changes a grade. But then the prof asks what his name is again and upon hearing it for the second time gets out his grade book (ah, the golden olden days), erases the F and replaces it with an A. The student thinks the prof is messing with him as asks Him why he decided to change the grade. . .the prof says something along the lines of "You've shown me that you have courage for your convictions". The student replies, "what if I hadn't come in?". The prof says, "then you would have deserved the F". I can't tell it as powerful as he did but I think you get the gist, wow!

- A freshman student that I had begun hanging out with since meeting her via the "Where is the Love" outreach week in February began a relationship with God! Previously I have been feeling convicted by Jesus' words, "You have not because you ask not" so I began asking the Lord for 1 more student to come to know Him before the year's end - so thankful I asked, He certainly responded. Pray for Jenny, pray for her to grow and become a Christ-centered laborer at Cal, in her sorority, and on the triathlon team!

- Headed off to the Intern Debriefing and Regional Staff Conference down at Forest Home. What an amazing time with the amazing people that I get to serve along side. Our speakers have been on staff for 50 years and were full of phenomenal encouraging, and challenging stories and admonishment from the Word. Definitely a refreshing and memorable weekend, so thankful that our leadership cares about our well-being!

-Tuesday was Crusade's World-Wide Day of Prayer, so sweet to know that over 25,000 staff members set aside this day to pray that God would be our strength and shield, and that He would continue to make Himself known in every corner of the globe.

- I'm beginning to wrap up the year and have celebratory times with our students. I'm particularly thrilled with what God is doing amongst the Freshmen women, they're really becoming "a community that follows Jesus and takes the Gospel to the world". Such a blessing to see it happen, can't wait to have them over for a dinner celebration next week.

And now, I'm off to get ready for the Giants baseball game we're going to with our students. Just be a good time, bummed that it's raining though. This weekend I'll be helping to lead a future Bible Study leader training time, visiting a friend in a nearby town, going to church, making stroopwafels (a Dutch cookie) with friends, and hopefully a little bit of cleaning and reading as well. Hope you have a great weekend too!
